After a prolific run throughout the Eighties and early Nineties, British industrial-metal pioneers Killing Joke took a seven-year break after 1996’s Democracy that ended with the release of their brilliant, high-octane comeback album in 2003. Notably, the band’s original lineup — vocalist Jaz Coleman, guitarist Kevin “Geordie” Walker and bassist Martin “Youth” Glover — were joined on their self-titled by drummer Dave Grohl, who smashes through songs like “The Death & Resurrection Show” with a feral force. Reunion albums shouldn’t be this good.
