It allows you to find your exact size in both the jacket and the pants instead of relying on a nested suit's size pairing - which is graded to provide a merely "acceptable" fit for most men within a given size - and usually after some alterations and tailoring. Always match the color of the suit jacket to the pants, and if you are a frequent suit wearer, we recommend buying 2 or more pairs of pants per jacket - as pants tend to show wear at a quicker rate.
