The fabric is specially treated with a finish called *ChitoSante, which is a new environmentally-friendly treatment using a natural biomass called Chitosan, made from crab and/or shrimp shells, rather than plant fibers that require vast amounts of water and land. Chitosante is created when Chitosante is combined with textile fibers during the dying and/or finishing process. Since Chitosante binds very easily, it can be combined with a variety of different fibers and creates a fabric with many benefits.
*ChitoSante is absorbent, breathable, durable, fast-drying, soft, and static-free. Along with these benefits, it has strong, natural and durable anti-bacterial properties. Chitosan-treated fabrics stay fresh, hygienic, and odor resistant. Chitosan is the only anti-bacterial bio-agent in the world certified by the United States E.P.A.
