The Brecknock Hill Cheviot sheep is a very old breed of domestic sheep which was originated from Wales.
It is also known by some other names such as Brecon Cheviot and Sennybridge Cheviot. It is a very old breed and actually originated approximately 400 years ago, but only recognize in the mid 1850s.
Purebred Brecknock Hill sheep come in all colors except spotted. They tend to be naturally small like their ancestors. And the great majority of them 23″ in height sheared.
The Brecknock Hill Cheviot sheep breed was introduced into the United States in 1838. And today the breed is raised mainly for meat production. Read some more information about this breed below.
