Galway is Ireland's only native sheep breed. The naturally creamy white fleece, which is highly dyeable. The micron size is 28-33mic · Staple Length: 70-90mm. This is a medium to coarse grade wool. Great for outwear.
Galway Wool is exclusively sourced from purebred Galway sheep through the Galway Sheep Breeders Association. These sheep and their wool hold a deep connection to the heritage of traditional Aran sweaters and Irish tweed.
While the Galway breed can be found throughout Ireland and parts of the UK, its wool is exceptionally rare. With less than 2,000 breeding females left globally, working with Galway wool allows you to embrace a piece of textile history that is both valuable and distinctive.
