Though best known for his 60's pop hits, the Grammy winning "Java" and "Cotton Candy", Al also played the classics, performed for eight U.S. Presidents (including JFK's inauguration), produced 50 albums and was 15 times voted World's Top Trumpeter in Playboy Magazine's reader polls. An enviable musical life captured by Rodrigue in his inimical style and witnessed by the omnipresent Blue Dog.
