Product Description
Looking for a unique addition to your water garden° Look no further than the Cyperus Percamenthus - Dwarf Papyrus (Bare Root)! This emergent aquatic perennial is reminiscent of Egyptian Papyrus, but is much shorter and more compact, making it ideal for smaller water features.
The Dwarf Giant Papyrus is perfect for water gardeners who admire the look of Cyperus papyrus but have limited space. Its dramatic tufts and compact growth habit make it a great choice for ponds, water gardens, and even container gardens. Just be sure to keep the water levels 1 to 4 inches above their crowns for optimal growth.
This plant can be invasive if planted directly at the pond edge, so we recommend placing them in 2-gallon containers before submerging them in water. The Dwarf Papyrus spreads 12" and can create new plantlets when its stems touch the water. To speed up this process, simply cut off the flower heads and float them upside down in water.
With green foliage and greenish brown flower clusters that bloom in summer, this plant thrives in full sun to partial shade. It grows rhizomatously and spreads 1’ to 2’, reaching a height of 30” to 36”. Suitable for Zones 9-11, the Dwarf Papyrus is easy to over-winter as a houseplant.
Please note that this product cannot be shipped to RI and plant orders typically ship on Mon, Tues, and Wed each week. If you place an order Wed-Sun, please allow extra delivery time. Upgrade your water garden with the unique and beautiful Cyperus Percamenthus - Dwarf Papyrus today!
