When it comes to fertilizing your lotus plant, it's important to choose the right type of fertilizer for optimal growth. For conventional fertilizers like Waterlily World Tablets, Pondtabbs, or Landon's Aquatic Fertilizer, wait until the plant has several floating leaves before adding fertilizer. Follow the instructions carefully based on the size of the pot and the amount of soil. Slow-release fertilizers like Nutricote 14-4-14 are also a great option, just be sure to place the fertilizer around the bottom of the pot and add soil on top.
