Standing at a micro height of 8"-14", this lotus is perfect for small spaces and pot sizes ranging from 5"-12" or wider and 4"-8" deep.
For optimal growth, we recommend using the pot-in-pot method, especially for Exquisite of Bowl Lotus (micro lotus) varieties. These hybrids are developed to thrive in small pots, typically staying under 13" tall.
To use the pot-in-pot method, you will need two pots: Pot A for display and Pot B for outside growing. Pot A should be smaller in diameter and height than Pot B, with the lotus tuber planted in Pot A. Fill Pot A with topsoil, water, and plant the tuber. Place Pot A in Pot B, ensuring there is water above the top rim of Pot A for proper growth.
When it comes to fertilizing lotus plants, choose a conventional fertilizer like Waterlily World Tablets or Nutricote 14-4-14 for optimal growth. Follow the instructions on the package carefully, adjusting the amount of fertilizer based on the size of the pot and soil. Avoid using 360-day fertilizers, as they may hinder rhizome formation during dormancy.
